Dear Mr. Cohen:
This is in further response to your letter of January 23, 1981 (F01A 36) and your subsequent letter of April 14, 1981 (F01A-81-59), in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, copies of public opinion documents and, more specifically, a Louis Harris and Associates report, pertaining to the use of nuclear energy.
Please find enclosed an Atomic Industrial Forum, Inc., " Info News Release,"
dated November 8,1978, with attached questionnaire regarding further development of nuclear power.
The Louis Harris and Associates report dated December 1978 contains information which the Harris organization considers confidential business (proprietary) information.
We have asked the originators of this report to review their proprietary claim, and will let you know as soon as possible whether the report, or any portions thereof, may be disclosed to the public.

This is a request under the Freedcm of Information Act as anended (5 U.S.C. 552).
I write to request copies of all docu=ents relating to the consideration, planning, execution, and utilization of studies undertaken by your_ agency, or by other parties for your agency and/or other agencies, which pertain,. in part or in whole, to public opinion on nuclear (atonic) energy and issues relating to the use of nuclear pcwer as a means of energy production.- This would include, but is not necessarily limited to, opinion polls, review or analyses of media coverage, mail received, telephone calls, or other indicators and means of ec==unication which your agency uses or has used to identify, study, measure, and analyze opinions on nuclear energy and related scientific, technical, or social issues. For exa.ple, I'am interested in reports, =coorandum, correspondence, work papers, minutes of =cetings,-
and staff papers based on an analysis of telephone calls. I do not, bewever, wish to receive logs of the telephone calls themselves. This request pertains to your agency and its predecessor agencies.
The FOIA also provides that if only portions of a file are exempted frem release, the remainder must be released. I therefore request that I be provided with all non-exe=pt portions which are reasonably segregable.
I, of course, reserve my right to appeal the vithholding or deletion of any I
infer =ation.
