NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENTS TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSES The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has issued Amendment Nos. 51 and 34 to Facility Operating Licenses Nos. DPR-53 and DPR-69, issued to Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, which revised Technical Specifications for operation of the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Units Nos.1 and 2.
The amendments are effective as of the date of issuance.
These amendments nodify the Appendix B (Environmental) Technical Specifications to delete Section 2.1 " Thermal Limitations on Condenser Cooling Water Discharge" which contains a limiting condition for operation for the protection of the aquatic environment. The Commission will rely on the requirements of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES)
Permit issued by the State of Maryland for the protection of the aquatic environment.
The application for the anendments complies with the standards and 4
requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations. The Conmission has made appropriate a
findings as required by the Act and the Conmission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendments. Prior public notice of the amendments was not required since the amendments do not involve a significant hazards consideration.

The Commission has determined that since this requirement is covered by the NPDES Permit, the issuance of these amendments will not result ir. any environmental impact and that pursuant-to 10 CFR 151.5(d)(4),
- a. environmental impact statement or negative declaration and environmental i pact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of these a.er.d:ents.
