Docket No. 50-466 Preliminary Safety Analysis Report Amendment 56 Please find under separate cover, 60 copies of Amendment 56 to the Allens Creek Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 1 Preliminary Safety Analysis Report. A copy of this transmittal letter is attached to each amendment copy.

Amendment 56 consists of the following:

1) A revision of Chapter 4, Section 3.9.4, Section 6.3.3 and Section 15.1 of the ACNGS PSAR is included. This revision reflects an improved 8x8 pre-pressurized fuel design. This fuel has been used as reload fuel at Hatch 2, Cooper, Quad Cities 2, Peach Bottom 2 & 3, Brunswich 1 & 2, Monticello, Browns Ferry 1, 2 & 3, Pilgrim, Fitzpatrick, Vermont Yankee and Duane Arnold.

It will be the fuel used in all BWR plants after June, 1979. This material is based upon, and is quite similar in content to corresponding infonnation contained in GESSAR II 238 Nuclear Island, previously submitted by the General Electric Company.
