This letter forwards a summary report stating the results of the evaluation of masonry walls at Beaver Valley Unit 1 as required by IE Bulletin 80-11, " Masonry Wall Design." We have completed evaluation of all masonry walls and have determined that of the 108 masonry walls identified by field survey, fif teen (15) failed to meet the evaluation criteria described in our October 31, 1980 report. At this time, each of the masonry walls identified as not meeting the acceptance criteria is being further evaluated to determine what effect, if any, the failure of the wall could have on any safety related systems or equipment. This further evaluation will be completed and a report su=marizing the results will be prepared by February 23, 1981. As this evaluation progresses, any safety related equipment which would be rendered inoperable upon failure of the masonry walls identified as not meeting the acceptance criteria will be identified, the provisions of the plant Technical Specifications relating to that equipment will be applied and a Licensee Event Report will be made as required.
