Based on the results of an NRC inscection conducted on December 1-5,1980, it acpears that one of your activities was not conducted in full compliance with HRC regulations.

10CFR71.5, " Transportation of licensed material," requires that no licensee deliver any licensed material to a carrier for transport, unless the licensee comolies with the applicable reouirements of the Cecartment of Transportation requiations 49CFR170-189. 40CFR172.203(d)
" Shipping Pacers" requires tnat the description for a shi zent of radio-active caterial must incluce the name of each radionuclide in the i
radioactive material tnat is listed in i9CFR173.390.
Centrary to the above, from August 3 to October 3,1979, sixteen shipments of. radioactive material identified as HB-CN-1 through HB-CN-16 contained transuranic radionuclides including: Americium 241, Curium 242, 243, 244, and Plutonium 238, 239, 240, that were not included in the description of the radioactive materials on the shipping papers. The specific activity of these transuranic radionuclides was calculated to te not greater than 13.3 nanocuries per gram.
This is an infraction.
