7590-01 llh UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSIO1 DOCKET NO. 50-255 CONSUMERS POWER COMPA':Y NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO PROVISIONAL OPERATING LICENSE The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Com6ission (the Commission) has issued Amendment No. 64 to Provisional Operating License No. DPR-20, issued to Consumers Power Company (the licensee), which amended the license for operation of the Palisades Plant (the f acility) located in Covert Township, Van Buren County, Michigan. The amendment is effective as of its date of issuance.
The amendment revises Paragraph 3.E of the license to incorporate Suoplement Nos. I and 2 to the Fire Protection Safety Evaluaticr.
The filings comply with the standards and re:airements of the Atomic Energy Act of l954, as are-ced (the Act', and the Commission's rules ar.d regulations. The Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's rules and regula i:ns in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendr.er.t. Pri:r public notice of this action was not required since the amendment does not involve a sign;ficant hazards consideration.
The Commission has determined that the issuance of this amendment will not res0lt in any significant environmental impact and that pursuant to.
10 CFR 551.5(d)(4) an environmental impact statement or negative declaration and environmental impact appraisal need not be prepared in connection with issuance of this amendment.
