On October 12, 1979, the New York State Board on Electric Generation Si:ing and the Environmen: (Siting Board) issued an order dismissing Case 30008 in which New hork State Electric & Gas Corporation and Long Island Lighting Company (Applicants) sought a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need for the New Haven Units as required under Public Sarvice Law Article VIII.
On November 12, 1979, the Applicants moved fer a rehearing of the order issued in Case 80008 dismissing the proceeding.
By order issued May 23, 1980, the Siting Board denied the mo: ion for rehearing.
Applicants have abandoned their attempts to license a nut icar-f ueled generation station at the New Haven or Stuveesant si:es.
Therefore Applican:s withdraw their application to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, dated November 9d978, for a construe: ion permit for New Haven Units 1 and 1.'~~
