Dear Mr. O'Neal:

The purpose of this letter is to summarize the items that should be submitted as part of the final documentation for the IMPACTS-BRC computer code (Version 2.0). As you know, the final submittal includes two packages one for NRC and one for Argonne National Laboratory's National Energy Sof tware Center (NESC).

The following list identifies the items that must be submitted to each organization.

Submittal for NRC to Include:

o IMPACTS-BRC User's Manual (camera ready for NUREG/CR) o NRC Form 335: Bibliographic Data Sheet o NRC Form 426A: Release to Publish Unclassified Contractor Report Software:

o Pascal compiler for preprocessor complete with any other software t

(i.e., linker) necessary to convert the source code to executable code.

o Software purchased for the IMPACTS-BRC Preprocessor (e.g., Turbo Magic. Tubo Power Tools).

Submittal for NESC to Include:

NESC Forms:

o In lieu of NESCF-13, a listing of the files on all disks and a brief L

description of each.

L o NESCF-11/12 o NESCF-6 o NESCF-15 o An Abstract using the format on the NESC-9 form.

Software:

i Since NRC codes are stored and distributed by NESC, the above software must reside at NESC. Distribution of the IMPACTS-BRC code is controlled via a J

" release" form, which is signed by the Director of NRC's Division of Low-Level Waste Management, and sent to NESC. On this form, we intend to include a j

statement directing NESC to distribute only the executable version of the code.

This step will discourage unauthorized modifications to the code.

I ho>e this information will assist you in submitting the final documentation
