TELECON WITH JAMES BALL RIDEM RE UNC REC 0VERY-SYSTEMS, WOOD RIVER JUNCTION,,(UNC-WRJ), DOCKET N0: 70-820
- On February 5,-1990, I received a call from Mr. Ball, Rhode Island Division of EnvironmentalManagement(RIDEM)(401277-2797), who inquired as to the status
'of-UNC.WRJ. He stated that the site was on the CERCLA list, but marked "not for action.". His interest was triggered after receiving a cal.1 from Mr. Bob Gregg,-
UNC-Montville.
Mr. Ball asked if I would send him a letter stating the d
condition and the NRC. controls exercised over the site.
In response. I indicated I
_a willingness to respond in writing, but asked that he forward his request-in j
writing so we could be fully responsive to RIDEM. At the same time, I asked for I
a copy of his-CERCLA file.

I: also informed Mr. Ball that, in the very near future, we were preparing to 1
offer to meet with the State to discuss license termination.
Mr.. Ball stated he I
definitely wanted such a meeting and would inform his supervisors. =In light of 1
this meeting, he may not request the documentation discussed above.
