Dear Ms. Roughan:
This refers-to your application. dated August 22, 1989, requesting renewal of Certificate of Com311ance No. 9137 for the Model No. 820 package.
Since an application was su)mitted at least 30 days prior to expiration of the Certificate of Compliance, the Certificate of Compliance will not be deemed to have expired until the application has finally been determined.
The application for renewal does not provide sufficient information on operating procedures and maintenance programs for the package. The application should be revised to include, as a minimum, the following information.
Operating procedures should be presented sequentially in the order of performance-and such items as inspections prior to loading, cautionary notes on package handling, limits on package contents, installation of a security seal, and instructions pertinent to receiving and unloading the package should be addressed.
The maintenance program should describe the actions taken to ensure continued performance of the packaging. The program should include periodic testing, inspection, and replacement scheduies, as well as criteria for replacement and repair of components and subsystems on an as.needed basis.
This information should be provided within 90 days from the date of this letter.
