NOTICE OF ISSUANCE AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE i
f The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (Comission) has issued Amendment No. 36 to Facility Operating License Nos. NPF-37 and MPF-66 issued to the Comonwealth Edison Company, which revised the Technical Specifications for cperation of the Byron Station, Units 1 and 2, located in Ogle County, Illinois. The amendments were effective as of the date of its issuance.
The amendments allow the use of Vantage 5 fuel.
The application for the amendment complies with the standards and requirementsoftheAtomicEnergyActof1954,asamended(theAct),andthe Comission's rules and regulations. The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment.
Notice of Consideration of Issuance of Amendment and Opportunity for Hearing in connection with this was published in the FEDERAL REGISTER on September 11, 1989 (54 FR 37518). No request for a hearing or petition for leave to intervene was filed following this notice.
The Comission has prepared an Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact related to the action and has concluded that an environmental impact statement is not warranted because there will be no environrental impact attributable to the action beyond that which has been predicted and described in the Comission's Final Environmental Statement for the facility dated April 1982, t W.
