221d 1.1 Resort Trojan Technical Specification (TTS) 3.7.9, " Penetration Fire Barriers" Limiting Condition for Operation (LCO) requires submittal of a special Report if a 3-hour ftre barrier is nonfunctional.for greater than 7 days..

On December 31, 1989, Fire Door No. 73, located in the Control Building 93 foot elevation (entry to the Control Roon Vestibule), became inoperable due to a failure in the door latch mechanism. The latch mechanism is in the door's emergency opening hardware assembly (commonly called a "Penic" or " Crash" bar) and parts were not readily available for this.installa-tion. Parts are on order and will be installed when received.

'The compensatory measures of TTS 3.7.9 (checking local smoke dotectors and establishing a hourly fire patrol) were established se required.
