Dear Mr. Smith:
5 m~
l,
' Below'is a list of. action ite.ns agreed upon by individual ' utilities in the Maintenance Indicator Demonstration Project.
Li (1)-
Southern. California Edison Company (SCE) will review the specific list.
l u
L<,
of equipment monitored by the NRC staff's proposed maintenance indicator.
f'
'for. San Onofre Units 1, 2, and 3 and designate those components that based on SCE's RCM, would be maintained by corrective maintenance only L'

-(2)
.SCE will' provide the component selection methodology and scarch strategy for CFAR analysis.-
.(3)
Rochester Gas and Electric Corporation (RG&E) will prepare a list of.
M equipment, based on their experience with reliability-centered maintenance,:that'in_their veiw should'be monitored with the NRC's
+
proposed maintenance ~ indicator'during the 18-month trtal period.
(4)
. RG8E will1 furnish. two years.of component data for-each of the twelve systems' analyzed toidate within the Ginna Reliability-Centered
~ Maintenance Program.-
(5)-
Duke Power Company will provide information.on their maintenance r
organization (responsibilities for equipment classes), examples of.
failure' trend reports and FAT output, and a method for using CFAR as a trending tool.
'(6)
Although the matter was only discussed during our meeting with Duke Power, we also need. descriptions of the corporate and site maintenance 1
- and-maintenance' support' organizations from the other five utility-
_ participants.
In this sense, the.. term " maintenance" refers to the broader definition stated in'the Commission's Maintenance Policy Statement (e.g., shows the relationship to engineering).
