Dear Senator Heinz:

I have received your letter of November 27, 1989, recommending Dr. Frederick Forscher for an appointment to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS).

Dr. Forscher has been one of several candidates considered by the ACRS staff for membership.

Although he has not been selected, his resume remains on file as a potential nominee for vacancies on the Committee.

Your

-ccmments concerning Dr. Forscher's qualifications and the items you enclosed pertaining to his background have been added to that file.

Dr. Forscher will continue to be given serious consideration for vacancies when additional experience in his specialty is needed by the ACRS.

Thank you for your interest in providing qualified candidates for appointment to this important advisory committee.

Sincerely, gW,k Kenneth M. Carr FULLTEXT ASCll SCAN hY G
