MINUTES OF MEETING WITH NUMARC WORKING GROUP ON TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS IMPROVEMENT--DEVELOPMENT OF NEW STANDARD TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (STS)
The NRC staff met with industry in the NRC's Rockville office from January 16 through 18, 1990, to discuss, answer questions on, and provide clarification on the staff's mark-up of the Owners Groups' proposed new STS Sections 3.6 Containment.
In addition to discussing the marked up proposed new STS and their Bases, Jose Calvo again discussed the staff's guidance to industry for their development of improved Bases.
Industry and the staff alike agreed that the dialogue provided valuable communications among all interested parties. The staff offered and recommended that industry meet with the staff to discuss and obtain clarification for the staff's mark-up of each STS section.
The staff also encouraged industry to call the designated staff contact for each STS section to obtain needed clarification.
j Currently the staff is scheduled to meet with industry starting on January 31, 1990 to hear industry's comments on the new STS containment section.
- However, the industry representatives at the meeting commented that NUMARC and the Owners Groups may request about a two week adjustment to the schedule.
