REWORK 0F FAULTY VALVES g
This is in response to your letter of December 20,1989 ' discussing the ffaulty one-inch UF6 cylinder - valves (lots 17 through :27) as manufactured by the Superior Valve Company, and the associated NRC-Order Modifying License-pertaining to those valve lots.
Upon receipt of the 1987 Order, an inspection of'our valve inventory disclosed' 96 valves from the suspect lots 17 through 22.
These valves have been " red tagged" and placed in locked, Deviant Material Storage where they remain to-date. No valves from the suspect lots have been found in-service to-date.
- i Preliminary arrangements have been made with Superior Valve; Company to rework our quarantined valves in accordance. with procedures

rework program
. j cncompassing hundreds of such valves from many customers.
Advanced Nuclear Fuels is on their rework schedule and will be advised of a specific shipping date later in the Spring.
