ton. January 10, 1990 at 1005, while Unit I was in Mode 5 (cold shutdown), it was discovered that the ' Unit 1 Containment isolation Valve (MOV-6200) for the Containment Hose Station Riser would not open upor remote initiation from the Control Room. The e
isolation - valve is addressed by-Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant Unit i Technical Specification 3/4.7.l l.l.c.

was entered as 'was : the Action Statement for Unit 1 Technical Specification 3.7.11.4.a,
- Fire Hose Stations."
Establishment of a. back-up water supply was provided within one hour by manually opening MOV-6200 which pressurized the Unit 1 Containment llose Station Riser.
Therefore all Unit -1 Containment Fire Hose Stations are operable. This action satisfied Action Statement 3.7.ll.l.b.1 and allowed Action Statement 3.7.11.4.a to be exited.-
At 1700 on January 10, 1990 a telephone notification was made by the Shift Supervisor to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission duty officer. This telephone notification satisfies ' Action Statement 3.7.ll.l.b.2.a.

of the telephone report no later than the first working day following the event and I
satisfies Action Statement 3.7.ll.l.b.2.b.
Immediate corrective actions, in addition to manually opening the valve, are focused on l-restoring-the automatic capability of MOV-6200. A detailed Special Report will be provided within 14 days with additional information.
