h On December 5,1989, G. Sorensen, Manager of Regulatory Programs at the WPPSS met with W. Travers,- S. Weiss, and A. Adams of the NRC staff to discuss the status of WNP-1 and WNP-3. Due to a reorganization and staff reassignments in the.0ffice of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, this meeting represented an initial j
l opportunity.for members of'the WPPSS and NRC staff to meet.
4 G. Sorensen outlined the history of. the units, their present status, highlights of-the ongoing; facility preservation program, and the outlook for growth in l power demand in the Pacific Northwest.
No plans are being made at this time to resume construction at either unit, LThe schedule for the preparation of a safety Evaluation Report (SER) :oncerning e
geoscience: reports submitted to NRC for WNP-3 was -discussed. The staff stated that-the' earliest that the SER could be completed would be in the late spring
