NRC has reviewed your October 17, 1989, submittal requesting approval for supplemental standards and Modification No. 2 for the Durango Remedial Action iPlan.
NRC-agrees that supplemental standards are applicable for the two
. steeply-sl~oping hillside areas identified on Smelter Mountain.
Approval is a
based on supplemental standard criteria (40 CFR Part 192.21) concerning risk of injury to workers-and resulting excessive environmental harm to be applicable to this proposal.
