Lettor, PGE to NRC, Dated September 29, 1989, " Nuclear j
Division Improvement Plan".
'l The purpose of this letter is to advise yoa of a change to the due dates for two items in the Nuclear Division Improvement Plan.
l With respect to Trojan's corrective action program, Reference 1, Item 6.c
[;
under Safety Assessment / Quality. Verification, we indicated that a major i
revision of the corrective action program will be completed by December 31, i
1
-1989.
This revision was to provide a common data base to allow identifi-i l'
cation of problems recurring in the.various corrective action systems, b
i.e., Event Reports (ERs), Nonconforming Activity Reports (NCARs), Non-conformance Reports (NCRs), etc.
Reference 2, Section 2.2.3.5, stated that Trojan's corrective action systems are currently being reevaluated to identify enhancements, aliminate duplication, and improve effectiveness.
The due date for this activity was also established as December 31, 1989.
To meet these-objectives, the corrective action program is being restruc-tured into a single corrective action system called the Corrective Action Request (CAR) which consolidates ERs, NCRs, and NCARs. Program enhance-ments are currently underway, with the program scheduled to be fully implemented by February 28.-1990.
This reflects a change from the December 31, 1989 date established earlier, but is warranted due to major
~
restructuring of the corrective action program.

sessions of this training would be completed by December 31, 1989. The scope of this training is much larger than originally anticipated.
Though some of the training sessions have been held, all will-not be completed by December. 31, 1989.
To properly implement this program, the due date for these initial training sessions has been changed from December 31, 1989 to February 28, 1990.
