Examination Report On October 25-26,1989-the NRC ' administered written operating examinations to a member of your staff who had applied for a license to operate your (TRIGA)

Nuclear Reactor Facility at U.C. Irvine.

At the conclusion of the examination, l,

the examination questions and preliminary findings were discussed with you.

Based on the observations of the Chief Examiner and recent inspections at your facility, we are concerned that needed maintenance may not be completed in a timely manner. We, therefore, request that you inform us in writing within 30 days of receipt of this letter of your plans for repairing the deficiencies 4

observed during this examination and plans to maintain the VC Irvine Nuclear j

Reactor Facility TRIGA during the next year.
