SUBJECT:
REISSUING 0F MATERIALS LICENSE N0. SNM-1513 EKS's Materials License No. SNM-1513 was issued by the Commission in 1975 with an expiration date.of March 31, 1980, to authorize possession and use of 1582 grams of U-235 in a neutron multiplier device.
The device was manufactured by the NRC-licensed Intelcom Rad Tech.
By letter dated June 16, 1980, the licensee filed a late application for renewal of the license. However, the licensee's renewal application was not complete in itself without reference to the original application.
On January 16, 1981 the staff visited EKC in order to familiarize himself with the licensee's operation and to discuss the licensee's renewal application.
As a result of the visit, the staff recomended that EKC's Materials License No. SNM,-1513 be reissued for*a six-month term, expiring July 31, 1981, so that licensee would be able to submit a complete and consolidated renewal application to the Comission.
The licensee has been requested to supply specific infonnation in their renewal application.
