Dear.Mr. Brennan:
This is in response to your letter dated June 3,1981, in which you requested, pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, copies of all recorded incidents of radiation exposure to employees of the Crane Company which we have on file and the results of any investigation this Agency may have performed as a result of these incidents.
As explained to you in a telephone conversation with Ms. Nina Toms of Iqy.
staff, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), does~ not have jurisdiction over X-ray machines. X-ray machines are under the jurisdiction of the individual states. When an incident occurs involving excessive amounts of radiation exposure, the case is referred to the state health department in t' e state in which the incident occurred. We suggest you contact the agency listed below:
State of Missouri Department of Health Bureau of Radiological Health P. O. Box 570 Jefferson City, M0 65102 The Administrator of this office is Mr. Ken Millar and his office number is (314) 751-2713.
This completes NRC action on your request.
