Thank you for your undateu letter received on June 12, 1981, informing us of the steps you have taken to correct the noncompliance which we brought to your attention in our letter dated May 20, 1981.

This letter also references the telephone conversation between Mr. W. P. Reichhold of this office and Mr. James Schaeffer of your staff.n June 19, 1981, concerning your corrective actions.

It is our understanding that the following actions will be taken:

1.

The Radiation Safety Committee will perform a quarterly review of the following:

(a) daily G-M surveys of the elution, preparation, and injection areas, (b) weekly wipe tests of the storage areas, and (c) daily constancy checks of the dose calibrator.

2.

New technologists will be instructed in the performance of molyb-denum-99 breakthrough tests and a record of this training shall be maintained.

3.

The action level for daily G-M surveys of the hot laboratory will be 2 mr/hr and 0.6 mr/hr for all other areas.
