Thank you for your letter dated May 29, 1981, informing us of the steps you have taken to correct the noacompliance which we brought to your attention in our letter dated May 14, 1981.
This letter also refers to the telephone conversation on June 16, 1981, between Mr. J. Baker of your staff and Mr. W. P. Reichhold of my staff concerning your corrective actions mentioned above.
It is our understanding that the following additional actions will be taken:
1.
A weekly review of the xenon-133 gas trap surveys will be performed by the nuclear medicine supervisor to ensure that monitoring of the renon-133 gas trap has been performed.
2.
A weekly inspection of the nuclear medicine facilities will be performed by the nuclear medicine supervisor to ensure that before disposal, all radioactive materials signs are removed or defaced on empty uncontaminated contaivers.
If our understanding of the above is incorrect, please contact Mr. W. P. Reichhold at 312-932-2500.
We will examine these matters during a future inspection.
