. ATTN: ' James Wright License No. 21-06217-03 President 461 West Huron Street Pontiac, MI 48053 Gentlemen:

This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. J. R. Mu11auer of this office on June 2 and 3,1981, of activities authorized by hTC Byproduct Material Licenses No. 21-06217-02 and No. 21-06217-03 and to the discussion of our findings with you and Clarence Groner at the conclusion of the inspection.

The inspection was an examination of activities conducted under your license as they relate to radiation safety and to compliance with the Commission's rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license. The inspec-tion consisted of a selective examination of procedures and representative records, observations, independent measurements, and interviews with personnel.

In addition to the above areas, the inspector examined actions described in the letter dated January 12, 1977, signed by Frederick Barten, regarding corrective action taken on apparent items of noncompliance found during our November 22, 1976 inspection of License No. 21-06217-02 and License No.

21-06217-03. We have no further questions regarding these matters.

During this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be in non-compliance with h7C requirements, as specified in enclosed Appendix A.

A written response, submitted under oath or affirmation, is required.

We will gladly discuss any questions you have concerning this inspection.

Sincerely, D. J. Sreniawski, Chief Materials Radiation Protection Section 2
