SUBJECT:
SUH4ARY OF APRIL 29, 1981 INDEPENDENT DESIGN REVIEW MEETING ON COLD SHUTDOWN On April 28, 1981 the NRC attended an Independent Design Review meeting on the systems to achieve and maintain cold shutdown for the Midland Plant, Units 1 and 2.
Participatir.g members of the Utilities Design Review Board and NRC attendees are listed in Enclosure 1.
A site tour for the NRC to observe these systems was conducted April 28, 1981.
The meeting was conducted with the principles and guidelines of SECY-81-161.
Advanced copies of the written presentation were provided by letter of March 5, 1981. Copies of the meeting transcript, including viewgraph slides and hand-outs and the response and disposition of each action item identified, were forwarded to NRC by cover letter dated June 4,1981. Because of these detailed documents, no summary of the techn' cal discussions is needed nor provided herein.
