L/PDR The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company has applied to the U. S. Muclear Regulatory Conraission for an operating license for the Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2 located in Lake County, Ohio. We are preparing an environmental impact statement as part of our operating license review.
The EIS will incli e considerations of terrestrial eco.ogy and land use.
impacts, as well.as endangered species, both state and federal. MRC staff is scheduled to visit the site on June 23, 1981 and to meet with.the applicant on June 24 (and 25 if necessary) to discuss the EIS review.
The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service has supplied your name as a possible contact for information on endangered species and especially on the Indiana bat. So that NRC can be fully informed of state and federally recognized problems in these matters, we would like to discuss reviews and findings of your agency relative to the potential for impact at Perry. To.cccomplish this, we would like to innite your participation.during the site visit if you believe that such a visit would assist in developing information concern-ing potential impacts to endangered species at Perry.
