This letter responds to your letter of April 1,1981 with respect to siting of the Midland plant. In my eariter letter, you were given the address of the c.blic document rooms where specific doc:ments could be located for your reviuw of detailed infomation.
The questions which you have raised cover a wide range of technical disciplines that include hydrology, seismology, geology, environment.11 and geotechnical engineering. NRC, in its efforts to require reasonable assurance that a nuclear plant will be safely constructed and ocerated, requires the Itcensec to submit an extensive amcunt of dccunentation in each of these disciplines.
In response to your questions on Midland, we have drawn from the pertinent docunents which are identified in the enclosure. More detailed information beyond that which is provided in our sumary response to ycur questions can be found in the identified documents which are located in the public docunent rooms.
