Dear Senator Specter:
Thank you for your recent inquiry on benalf of Warren Prelesnik of Hershey, Pennsjlvania, who expresses concern about proposed amendments to the Commission's Rules of Practice,10 CFR Part 2.
The proposed changes, designed to expedite the hearing process for the licensing of nuclear power plants, are now uncer consideration by :ne Commission.
Over 600 public comments were received on che draft proposals.
It is expected that Commission action, inclucing significant modifications in the amendments as originally ~ proposed, will be taken in the next several weeks.
The final changes will be published in Federal Recister.
