Dear Mr. Chairman:
On Decem' er 4,1980 you requested that the Commission ask the ACRS b
to review the NRC staff rationale on its judgements related to control system failures.
On December 11, 1980, you requested that the Commission ask the ACRS to review the Comission's responses to your inquiries on the calculations of ATWS consequences and the adequacy of the Comission's actions taken subsequent to the Browns Ferry control rod failures.
The Comission has recently received ACRS reports on these issues and I am pleased to forward copies for your consideration.
We will keep you informed of subsequent Comission actions on these matters.
