Dear Mr. Helfrich:
Enclosed please find a letter from Westinghouse Electric Corporation re-questing an amendment to extend the expiration date of component license XCOM0232 from December 31, 1981 to December 31, 1991. The license presently authorizes the export of nuclear components, valued at $9,000,004 to the Zorita Nuclear Power Plant in Spain.
Before taking action on this license amendment, we would appreciate your views in accordance with established procedures as to whether the proposed amendment meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act as amended by the Nuclear Nonproliferation Act of 1978.
