UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION 00CXET NO. 50-70 GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY GENERAL ELECTRIC TEST REACTOR NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF APPLICANT'S ENVIRONMENTAL REPORT AND NOTICE OF INTENT TO PUBLISH AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the regulaticns of the Cemission in 10 CFR Part 51, General Electric has filed an environmental as part of their application for renewal of the operating license fer reccr General Electric Test Reactor located at the Vallecitos Nuclear Center near Pleasanton, California. The original request for renewcl was submitted on Octocer and notice of Prcoosed Renewal of Facility License was published in the 21, 1975, FEDERAL REGISTER on Septemoer 15, 1977 (/2 FR 46427). The report, which discusses environmental considerations related to the continued cperation of the f acility is available for public inspection at the Connissicn's Public Document Rocm, 1717 H. Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.
20555. Copies of the report are also being made available at the Office of the Governor, Office of Planning and Research, 400 Tenth Street, Sacramento, CA 95814 and Association of Bay Area Governments, Hotel Claremont, Berkeley, CA 94705.
In order to determine the scope of the issues to be addressed in the EIS and to identify the significant :ssues related to the propcsed license renewal, an cpen scoping meeting will be held in the Little Theatre at the Granada High School 685 Las Positas Sculevard, Livermore, CA 94550 at 9:30 AM on June 13, 1981.

7590-01 After the environmental report has been analyzed by the staff, a draft environmentr.1 statement will be prepared. Upon preparation of the draft environmental statement, the Cocnission will, among other things, cause to be published in the FEDERAL REGISTER a summary notice of availability of the draft statement, with a request for cocraents from interested persons on the draft statement. The summary notice will also contain a statement to the effect that coments of Federal agencies and State and Local officials will be made available when received. Upon consideration of ccmments submitted with respect to the draft environmental statement, the staff will issue a final environmental statement, the availability of which will be published in the FEDERAL REGISTER.
