7590-01 UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-70 GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY GENERAL ELECTRIC TEST REACTOR REVISED NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF APPLICANT'S ENVIRONMENTAL REPORT AND NOTICE OF INTENT TO PUBLISH AN ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT S1ATEMENT Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 and the regulations of the Commission in 10 CFR Part 51, General Electric has filed an environmental report as part of their appifcation for renewal of the operating ifcense for General Electric Test Reactor located at the Vallecitos Nuclear Center near t
Pleasanton, California. The original request for renewal was submitted on October 21, 1975, and notice of Proposed Renewal of Facility License was published in the FEDERAL REGISTER on September 15, 1977 (42 FR 46427). The report, which discusses environmental considerations related to ttie continued operation of the facility is available for public inspection at th'e Commission's Pub 1'ic Document Room, 1717 H. Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.
20555. Copies of the report are also being made available at the Office of the Governor, Office of Planning and Research, 400 Tenth Street, Sacramento, CA 95814 and Association of Bay Area Governments, Hotel Claremont, Berkeley, CA 94705.

1 7590-01 After the environmental report has been analyzed by the staff, a draf t environmental statement will be prepared. Upon preparation of the draft environmental statement, the Commission will, among other things, cause to be published in the FEDERAL REGISTER a summary lotice of availability of the draft statement, with a request for comments from interested persons on the draft statement. The summary notice will also contain a statement to the effect that comments of Federal agencies and State and Local officials will be made available when received. Upon consideration of coinments submitted with respect to the draft environmental statement, the staff will issue a final environmental statement, the availability of which will be pub,11shed in the FEDERAL REGISTER.
