SUBJECT:
WASTE PACKAGING INSPECTION, TI 2840/1 (Rev. 2)
This refers to an unannounced routine safety inspection conducted by
1. C. MacArthur of this office April 20-24, 1981. Shipments of radicactive waste
snipped from tne facilities listed in Attachment A were inspected upon arrival at
the Chem-Nuclear Systems, Inc. , Barnwell, South Carolina disposal site.
Areas examined during the insoection and our findings are contained in the
enclosed inspection report and data sheets. Within these areas, the inspection
consisted of a review of the shipping papers, placarding and labeling require-
ments, radiation measurements, selective contamination surveys, and observations
by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violotions or deviations were disclosed.
Copies of th2 enclosed inspection report have been provided to the State of South
Carolina and the United States Department of Transportation.
