The NRC inspects all shipmaats of radioactive waste prior to such wastes leaving the Three Mile Island Site. On May 18, 1981, the licensee prepared an EPICOR 11 profilter, No.16, for shipment to Battelle-Columbus Laboratories in Columbus, Ohio.- We understand that the purpose of this shipment is to allow extensive tasting on the ion exchange raterial in PF-16 to provide information on handling, storage, processing and disposal of this kind of radioactive waste.

We have perforT.wd a radiological survey of the shipoent. Based on the results of our survey, this shipment is in conformance with Federal radiological I

regulations.
