Parris dated April 15, 1981 In order to maolve pt.rge valve operability concerns identified by your staff, TVA will follow the guidance of NUREG-0737 Item II.E.4.2 Attachment 1, " Interim Position for Containment Purge and Vent Valve Operation Pending Resolutien of Isolation Yalve Operability," at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant unit 2.

The valve manufactumr has provided assurance that the purge valves will close under Design Basis Accident Conditions if the purge valve opening is j
limited to 50 degrees. Therefore, TVA will limit the purge valve opening to 50 degrees as specified in the NRC interim position. Additionally, TVA will adhere to the current 1,000 hours0 days <br />0 hours <br />0 weeks <br />0 months <br /> per year purge time limit established for Sequoyah. Approval for this limit was provided in the l
