Sunnlement to Pequest for Amendment

Dear Mr. Denton:
Reference (a) forwarded Amendments 5h and 37 ror Units 1 and 2, respectivaly, with an implementation date of 6/1/81. As discussed with your staff on 5/28/81 ve vill be unable to meet that date and hereby request an extension of the implementation date to June 15, 1981. The reason for this request is that additional analysis time is needed to determine the proper position of the AFW throttle valves.
The Tech Specs forwarded by reference (a) requires automatic ini'.iation of AFW flow. The AFW throttle valves are required to be see to a specific position. That position is presently being determined by an analysis that we expect to be completed in time for a 15 June 1981 implementation date.
This request has been determined to constitute es sunplement to previous amendment requests, References (b), and pursuant to 10 CFR Part 170, no additional fee is required.
