STATE OF RHODE ISLAND REQUEST FOR NRC HEARING ON DECOMMISSION-ING OF UNC RECOVERY SYSTEMS FACILITY
Reference:
Letter dated January 14, 1981, from Malcolm J. Grant, Policy Associate to the Governor of Rhode Island, to Boyce H. Grier, Director, Region I In the referenced letter Mr. Grant requested either NRC response or NRC action on 15 items. The referenced letter and the Region I response are enclosed (enclosures 1 and 2). As you can see, item 15 requests advice on procedures necessary to initiate and conduct a hearing on the decommissioning of the UNC Recovery Systems facility at Wood River Junction, Rhode Island. We request that your office provide the appropriate advice to the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Rhode Island.

Since the Office of Nuclear Materials Safety and Safeguards have interest in such a hearing, we are sending a copy of this memorandum to them.
