Q UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-309 MAINE YANKEE ATOMIC POWER COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE The U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Comission) has issued Amendment No. 59 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-36, issued to Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company, which revised Technical Specifications for operation of the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Station (the facility) located in Lincoln County, Maine. The amendment was effective on May 5, 1981.

The amendment revised Technical Specification 3.19 to allow for remote-manual operability of the breakers for the reactor coolant loop No. 2 isolation valves during the period between May 5 and May 9, 1981.

The application for the amendment complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Comission's rules and regulations. The Comission has made appropriate finding as required by the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations n 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license amendment. Prior i

public notice of this amendment was not required since the amendment does not involve a significant hazards consideration.
