On April 6,1981, the NRC Site Senior Resident Inspector was notified by phone of a possible 10CFR50.55(e) condition regarding galling of the discs and seat rings in six Powell Gate Valves supplied for the referenced project.
Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company is investigating the cause of this prablem with the assistance of a metallurgical consultant.
A report will be submitted by July 10, 1981.
