s On April 20 Porter County Chapter Intervenors (PCCI) moved to compel answers to their First Set of Interrogatories to NIPSCO.

Under NRC regulations, NIPSCO's answer to the Motion is due on May 5. However, we believe that the concerns perceived by PCCI can be resolved between the parties without need for Board inter-vention. To that end, we have addressed an explanatory letter to counsel for PCCI (copies served on the Board and parties today) .

l The letter requests that counsel advise us whether the letter l resolves PCCI's concerns or whether PCCI wish to pursue the Motion.

l l In the latter event, we shall promptly furnish our formal response and, if appropriate, request a protective order. We request 9 5, coS l
