Three Mile Island Nuclear Station (TMI)
Training for TMI Fire Brigade Personnel In accordance with the requirements of the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Cc=sission, General Public Utilities (GPU) plans to schedule training for TMI Fire Brigade personnel.
In order to perfor= this training, we understand that it will be necessary to obtain an Open Burning Permit from PaDER.
In follow-up to an April 3, 1981 telephone conversation between yourself and our Mr. T. A. Grace, we are supplying the information necessary for PaDER to review prior to issuance of an Open Burning Permit.

Datqs the Trainine is to be Conducted - Currently scheduled dates are August 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 and September 8.
All training will be conducted between 0700 and 1600 hours0.0185 days <br />0.444 hours <br />0.00265 weeks <br />6.088e-4 months <br />.
4 Location of Training Site - Training will be perfor=ed in an area on Three Mile Island to the north of Unit 1 natural draft cooling towers. This is the same location that was used for training in 1980.

Reason for Traininc and Estimate of T:me and Amount of Fuels to be Burned - This training is being perfor=ed in accordance with requirements of the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission which require that the TMI Fire Brigade perform annual training in accordance with NFPA 27 " Private Fire Brigade".

I Mr. Leif Ericson L1L 104 The fuels to be used for the fla==able liquid portion will consits of an esticated 55 gallons of a 90% fuel oil and approximately 10* gasoline mixture using approxi=stely five (5) gallons of ski =-coat for each fla==able evolution.
Smoke House Training will censist of a 55 gallon drum containing 10 to 15 pounds of scrap wood and 10 to 15 pounds of used tires. This smoke will be carried inside a trailer via a flue ar.?angement. The density will be limited due to not desiring full obscurity inside the trailer.
