l The purpose of this letter is to respond to your request dated April 9,1981, which asks that we indicate our findings with regard to our evaluation of Union Carbide's proposed tallings management alternatives for the Union Carbide Uravan Mill.
We have reviewed and provided cournents on the draft evaluation prepared by our consultant (Geotechnical Engineers Inc.) on proposed tailings management alternatives for Uravan and expect that the final report will be available by I
the end of May. This final report will indicate preferred alternatives I
to tallings management as opposed to a preferred site. We can then meet with you to discuss not only this report but also our Assessment of the In-Place l
Reclamation Alternative. We will be in contact with you once the report is i
available to stt up a date for a meeting. If you have further questions, please feel free to contact us.
