License condition 2.C.(18)(b) requires the submittal of a plan to bring safety-related electrical equipnent into ccepliance with PUREG-0588 within 90 days of the receipt of cur Safety Evaluation Report Supplecent No. 6, which was issued with the license.
License condition 2.E references all applicable requirerents in Section 2 of the license, thus correcting the error in the draft license sent to the Connission for consideration at its March 11,1981 :neeting.

JOSEPH M. FARLEY NUCLEAR PLANT, UNIT 2 - ISSUANCE OF FACILITY CPERATING LICENSE The Nuclear Regulatory Comission has issued the enclosed Facility Operating License No. NPF-8-to the Alabama Power Company for the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, Unit 2, located in Houston County, Alabama.
Facility Operating License NPF-8 authorizes operation of the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, Unit 2, at 100 percent power (2652 megawatts thernal) upon completion of certain related construction items.
Your attention is specifically directed to the 90-day requirement of license condition 2.C.(18)(b) to either (1) complete the documentation on environmental qualification for Class IE equipment, or (2) comit to alternat.tve actions which will result in full compliance with NUREG-0588 no later than June 30, 1982.
Also enclosed is a copy of the Safety Evaluation Report Supplement No. 6 supporting this action (NUREG-0117), tnd a copy of the notice which has been forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Comission or the NRC) having found that:
A.
The application for licenses filed by the Alabama Power Company complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Comission's regulations set forth in 10 CFR Chapter I, and all required notifications to other agencies or bodies hase been duly made; B.
Construction of the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, Unit 2 (the facility), has bean substantially completed in conformity with Construction Permit No. CPPR.86 and the application, as amended, the provisicas of the Act and the regulations of the Comission; C.
The facility will operate in conformity with the application, as amended, the provisions of the Act, and the regulations of the Comission; D.
There is reasonable assurance: (i) that the activities authorized b'y this license can be conducted without endangering the health and safety of the public, and (ii) that such activities will be conducted in compliance with the Commission's regulations set forth in 10 CFR Chapter I; E.
The Alabama Power Company is technically and financially qualified to engage in the activities authorized by this license in accordance with the Comission's regulations set forth in 10 CFR Chapter I; F.
The Alabama Power Company has satisified the applicable provisions of 10 CFR Part 140, " Financial Protection Requirements and Indemnity Agreements", of the Comission's regulations; G.
The issuance of tnis license will not be inimical to the comon defense and security or to the health nd safety of the public;

UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION DOCKET NO. 50-364 ALABAMA POWER COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE Notice is hereby given that the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Comission (the Codssion) has issued Facility Operating License No. NPF-8 to Alabama Power Company which authorizes operation of the Joseph M. Farley Nuclear Plant, Unit 2, (Farley Unit 2), ac reactor core power levels not in excess of 2652 megawatts thermal (100 percent power) in accordance with the provisions and conditions of the license, the appended Technical Specifications and the Environmental Protection Plan. Prior to operation at power levels exceeding 5 percent, certain license conditions must be met. This license supersedes the Fuel Leding and Low Power Testing License issued October 23, 1980.
Farley Unit 2, is a pressurizec water reactor located in Houston County, Alabama. Prior public notice of the overall action involving the proposed issuance of facility operating license was issued in the Federal Register on November 29,1973 (38 FR 29907).
The application complies with the standards and requirements of the Act and the Comission's rules and regulations. The Comission has made appropriate findings as required by the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act),
and the Comission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set ferth in the facility operating license.
The Comission has detemined that the issuance of this facility full power operating license will not result in any environmental impacts other than those evaluated in the Final Environmental Statement since the activity authorized by the license is encompassed by the overall action evaluated in l
the Final Environmental Statement.
