rerorandum concerning the process which ensures that licensee comitMnts are carried out.
Recuest 1 Please describe the process which ensures that comnitnnts made by the appli-cant during the Cf. review are set forth in the SER. Are there any formal directions to the reviewers on this subject?

Ccmitments made by the applicant during the OL review are transe.itted by letter to the NRC. These comitments are incorporated by reference in the SER and, in some cases, by quotation or paraphrasing. There are no formal directions to the reviewers on this subject. However, reviewers are instructed to document the bases for acceptance, including any cemitments.
Reouest 2 Please describe the process which ensures that I AE verifies the carrying out of post-FSAR comitments requiring pre-license action.

Comitments made by the licensee that require pre-licensing action, such as modification of plant procedures or equipment, are transmitted from NRP, to l
the Office of Inspection and Enforcement by means of a draft SER.

I Commissioner Bradford i completed in substantial agreement with docketed coasnitments and regula-tory requirements. When NRR feels that emphasis should be given to a particular requirement, NRR requests I&E to verify fulfillment of the specific comitment.

Are there formal directions to the reviewers on this subject?
Response
Comitments requiring post-license plant modifications are identified in the SER and are incorporated into the license. There are no formal directions to reviewers on the subject. However, reviewers are instructed to identify future comitments (license condition candidates) relied upon to ensure completion of the action.
