Supplemental Response Regaraing Seismic Qualification Review (Volume 6)
NRC Docket Nos. 50-373/374 Reference (1):
L. O. DelGeorge letter to B. J. Youngoloca cated March 27, 1981
Dear Mr. Schwencer:
Attachea is Volume 6 of the Seismic Qualification Summaries for seventeen (17) items of equipment at LaSalle.
This routine status report follows the update previously submittea in Reference (1), and provices the record of close out for all open SQRT items icentifiea in the NRC Audit.
Testing is not yet completea on four (4) 80P equipment items and twenty-eight (28) NSSS equipment items.
These tests are scheaulea for completion by June 30, 1981 and barring unforseen testing problems, that date will be met.
The availability of replacement items for testing is a major problem should equipment become damagea auring test, therefore, the testing sequence is plannec to obtain maximum cata prior to the application of the highest loaaing levels.
The cata from both the LaSalle and Zimmer Impedence tests have Deen reoucea.
The final report is in compilation now.
A summary report is scheaulea for release to the NRC Staff by June 1,
1981.
Of necessity, that report reaches generalizea conclusions casea upon the extensive test cata, but it does not incluae the voluminous cata base from which these conclusions are arawn.
This approach is consistent with the intent of the impeaance testing which was to confirm the analytical mocels an: methoaolo9y employed for the seismic qualification of equipment at LaSalle.
We will keep you appraisec of any changes in the scneaule outlinea, and will submit upaated information as it becomes available.
