SUBJECT:
PROPOSED EXPORT OF SAFEGUARDS SAMPLES TO THE IAEA (XSNM01809)
For the purpose of satisfying the requirement in 5 llo.44(a)(1)(iii) for this export, the staff has accepted the assurance of the applicant, as an official of the competent Executive Branch agency, that the preposed export wuld be made pursuant to the US-IAEA Agree:nent for Application of Safeguards in the U.S.
Article 73(a) of the agreement provides that the IAEA shall be able to obtain samples of safeguarded material, and Article 73(f) of the Agreement, provides that arrangements shall be made for the shipment to IAEA Latoratories of the samples taken for the Agency's use.
