This is a request for an exception to the requiremen to search personnel and items exiting from the former processing MAA for unauthorized removal of high en-riched uranium.
Although the area still has some HEU-NDA standards con-taining ab'.ut 140 grams of U-235 in tamper-safed bottler and drurr. - we are satisfied that, with the exception of matecial which may be found imbedded in walls and floort., no other SNM remains.
The standards are used daily and must remain throughout the decommissioning process.
Of the remaining equipment, only the decon hood, which is in daily use, is scheduled to stay in place.
The empty chemical / waste tanks (1-D-2 8 and 1-D-14A & B) are scheduled for removal within two weeks.
All other equipment has been removed.
An exception to this requirement, requested under 10 CFR
- 70. 32 (e), will not decrease the effectiveness of the security system.
