Dear Ms. Ezzell:
In response to your request for information concerning the accident at Three Mile Island and its effects on the town's population, enclosed are some NRC reports which have addressed that subject to date. Please note Chapter 2 (paper clipped) of the 1979 NRC Annual Report where the accidtent itself, as well as follow-up measures taken and investigations perfonned, are discussed in some detail.
Research into various social, economic and psychological impacts which have stenened from the accident is still on going and will undoubtedly continue for some time.
For this reason, some care must be taken on conclusions drawn only from the infonnation available today.
Evaluation of long-term effects, for example, may take several years to complete. However, some meaningful effects are apparent, even now.
I hope you will find the enclosed material helpful in preparing your research project.
I would be most interested in receiving a copy of your final paper.
Sincerely.
